Woman hit by truck pulling Mardi Gras float at Shreveport Centaur Parade

During the Centaur Parade Saturday, Feb. 7, a woman was hit by a pickup truck pulling a Mardi Gras float.
According to the Shreveport Police Department, the 24-year-old woman received injuries to her lower extremities following the incident. Police also stated there is currently no suspected wrongdoing by the driver.
The incident occurred approximately around 6 p.m. near Shreveport-Barksdale Highway and East Kings Highway. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital for her injuries and is expected to recover.

Police said this incident remains under investigation.
