Singapore’s Budget for 2026 will be delivered on Thursday (12 Feb) at 3.30pm by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. He is likely to use his speech to address a number of key issues such as Singaporean concerns over jobs and rising cost of living. PM Wong is also expected to position Singapore as an AI hub and provide an update on Singapore’s Economic Strategy Review. Economists believe this year’s Budget could see a scaling back of the the generous Community Development Council (CDC) voucher scheme seen in previous Budgets.

The Philippine Embassy in Singapore and the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) are both aware of a video circulating online showing a man assaulting a Filipina at Lucky Plaza. DMW Secretary Hans Cacdac was quoted as saying they are looking into it and filing the necessary legal actions.
