Rescuing animals from severe abuse and neglect is not for the faint of heart. The people who dedicate their lives to saving animals in need truly are the angels among us. Sleepy Pig Farm is a 10-acre animal sanctuary located in Granville, New York. Just days ago, they were contacted by state police about animals found at a home where severe neglect and cruelty had taken place. The animals were living outside in open cages in negative-degree temperatures, and heartbreakingly, not all of them survived.

While the sanctuary shared a heartbreaking, difficult-to-watch video of the rescue, they also posted another clip that warmed our hearts. The video shows the four rescued pigs the morning after they arrived, waking up warm and safe, perhaps for the first time in their lives. Make sure your sound is on so you can hear rescuer Tiffany gently waking them. It’s one of the most precious things you’ll see today!

Tiffany also shared in the caption, "They're all girls btw, leave name ideas!" @Natalie Ortiz had the best name idea and got nearly 30,000 likes when she shared, "4 girls?? Oh, honey, that is Blanche, Rose, Dorothy, and Sophia!" We couldn't agree more!

Other fun name suggestions for the rescued pigs included one from @VS: "Call them the spice girls but name them actual spices like Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Rosemary, and Ginger." @oopsiedaisie224 made us laugh with, "Amy Swinehouse, Lindsay Loham, Hamantha Jones, Swineona Ryder."

More About Sleepy Pig Farm's Latest Rescue

Sleep Pig Farm shared several videos of this rescue, and it was shocking to see so many animals living in horrendous conditions. One of the videos showed Tiffany walking up to the pigs' cage for the first time, where she shared that one of the other pigs who had been with them recently had frozen to death.

In another video, she said that the police had found a decapitated pig lying in the snow, and it was then that they contacted Sleepy Pig Farm.

In the rescue video, Tiffany shared clips from when she first arrived at the property. There were rows upon rows of empty cages and cages full of animals left outside in a foot of snow, with no coverings, warmth, or protection from the cold. Some animals in the cages had already passed away.

We're not sure who rescued the rest of the animals, but we're glad these four girls found their forever home at Sleepy Pig Farm.
